Understanding targeted cryotherapy

Cold therapy—focused exactly where it’s needed.

A dry, non-invasive recovery option for any horse, applied one targeted area at a time.

Benefits

Why owners and trainers use it

  • Targets joints, legs, muscles, and difficult-to-reach areas
  • Supports post-training recovery and overall comfort
  • May ease muscle tension and post-exercise stiffness
  • May help reduce localized pain, inflammation, and swelling
  • Encourages relaxation and temporary muscle relief
  • Supports the vasomotor response: temporary vasoconstriction followed by vasodilation as the area warms

About the owner

Meet Molly.

A lifelong horsewoman whose experience spans multiple disciplines, Molly brings an observant, horse-first perspective to every session.

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Molly first fell in love with horses at age eight. Weekly lessons grew into leases, hunter/jumper shows, eventing, and summers helping her trainer teach young riders. She later attended Clemson University in the Animal and Veterinary Sciences program with a concentration in equine business, gaining experience from foal watch and starting young horses to show preparation and riding.

During her junior year, Molly was introduced to the American Saddlebred and was immediately drawn to the breed’s natural motion, willingness, and unmistakable personality. Work with Saddlebred barns in South Carolina and Texas deepened that connection, and returning to the Carolinas eventually brought horses fully back into her everyday life.

Her own horse, Johnny, became the inspiration behind Rack On. Navigating his changing comfort and soundness needs taught Molly that what can look like attitude may actually be communication. That experience shaped her commitment to noticing the small signs, supporting the whole horse, and helping owners build thoughtful recovery into their care routines.

Why Rack On

Built from listening to my own horse.

Rack On Equine Cryo & Recovery began with a simple belief: the small signs matter.

My own horse taught me how closely movement, comfort, and recovery are connected. From hock issues at a young age and persistent back soreness to tension through the TMJ, poll, and SI—and now a fetlock issue and general body arthritis—I learned to look beyond the sore area and pay attention to what my horse was “saying.”

Targeted carbon dioxide cryotherapy became a way to offer focused cold application without the time and mess of cold hosing or ice wraps. Today, I bring that same observant, practical care to every horse— whether we’re at home, at the barn, or preparing for the ring.

“Quality over quantity, and the horse always comes first.”

Every session ends with a small peppermint and a moment to let the horse finish on a positive note.
